Csaint, this is from the bottom of your Thank God for music, a medium for broken souls to heal themselves through the power & passion of spiritual song. Your lyrics are haunting & it is certain you have felt every word during dark times. I leave you with a line from a Jackson Browne song from the album The Naked Ride Home...'I navigate the inner reaches of my disarray' I think he has been there too and you convey to me an honesty equally as recognisable as human & raw. Powerful stuff & the guitar sound is wonderful. Love it. Gave me a lump in my throat. for you.

Beautiful chords, very touching lyrics. I agree with mariadarines, music lets us pour ourselves out so wonderfully, heal ourselves, make ourselves better. It really does feel like this came straight from your heart, and I believe it does. That you can do that is wonderful.

I think what makes this song so special, at least for me, is the rays of light amidst the darkness. Not just a song of pain, but perhaps of the moment when you begin to get past the pain. The guitar in this sounds lovely, the melody exquisite. :clou9:

Best vocals by far that I've ever heard from you. you need to suffer more often I like the simple folksy/lite rock guitar, really adds to the sincerity of the piece. It's funny, the pain racking this piece is actually uplifting, and I swear I'm not a sadist. There's a strange feeling of hope to this one, like you're looking back on moments of psychological weakness and scoffing. "I slipped the other day and missed you. I won't make the same mistake again." Oh, man, love the outro reps "Nowhere around..." Just sweet. Well done, my man!

I'm in love with the guitar.
The lyrics are deep and well written. The vocal delivery reflects your feeling for the meaning. The emotions are very well expressed. That you are paying attention to details relating to the the vocals makes a big difference in the delivery. I hear the modest reverb in the vocals. It gives the depth a realistic feeling, presence, so to speak. You have done that very well.
The progression is a good match to the content.
The clarity and attention to the mix is impressive.
The combination is very pleasing.
Paying attention to these details has made a difference. This is very good overall and most aspects are exceptionally good. You are expressing your true capabilities and potential.
Since I began listening to your work you have gotten better and better. I have found that to be the case with my music. The improvements are proportional to the time spent on the details.
Great job Chris. Keep it up. Now that you are mastering the techniques it is easier and easier to apply to future works.
Thanks for noting me to this. I really enjoy it.

The vocals have some moments where the emotions are just pouring out . Nice mix on the acoustic guitars. The slightly different feel on the right and left channels creates a good 3D feel. Very powerful song and you project the power with sincerity. I agree with Notary that the outro is very effective and pretty.

this is a beautiful song... the music is perfect... and if the vocals are lacking anything, they make up for it with emotion.

Straight from the heart...a very emotional performance - in places melancholy or wistful, at other times even slightly angry. You have put so much of yourself in this song. It is rare for such sincerity to come through in a song.

The melody and sentiment work for me... the lyrics are heartfelt and meaningful, and the chording is really pretty, making for some jarring emotional contrast here, and that drives the message home even further...
The vocals are rough in spots... I'd suggest singing it an octave lower (even though I do appreciate what you're attempting with those high notes)... overall, though, that's the only critique I'd make...
Keep going...

It really comes into its own around the 2:30 mark. The mix really accentuates the grittiness of the emotions. The falsetto parts really make it. I'm a glutton for harmony and would love to hear some over that part to fill it out a little more. Regardless, good job.

Never really been sure about your voice Chris but it seems to work really well with this song. It’s quite a sombre number perhaps shades of Radiohead in there. Theres a few nice hooks with the rhythm guitar there. It’s a really powerful song. Perhaps would have to be in a certain mood to really enjoy it but I think my favourite song (song as opposed to instrumental) of yours so far. Great Stuff.

Nice song. Lovin' the acoustic; I think you multi-tracked the guitars and it sounds great. The chords do a good job of creating the mood you're aiming to.

There is one guitar. I plugged my acoustic straight to the mixer, and then miked it. I panned the dry side to the left, and added a little reverb, and panned the miked side to the right to give the sound some depth.

I love bars and I love acoustic stuff, so this was an awesome song for me. I'm also into some emo stuff, so that was alright. The vocals do tend to get very annoying at some points, but the message was great. ing: was the only thing that needed improvement, everything else awesome, especially the progression, loved it. Outro was really sweet too, I have to say.

nice acoustic work, man... my personal suggestion: work on the vox more than the acoustic... for now, atleast
move back from the mic a bit, maybe... i like the 'Nowhere Around' bits repeating... keep it up, and yea just practise practise, i guess

That's the way it is sometimes, huh...? A beautiful melody and awesome lyrics... I would agree about the vocals as a whole, but then, to me at least, it puts more emotion to it... Like you're breaking down, trying to get this story told... So they aren't that bad if you look at it in that context, you know? Beautiful work here, keep it up...

a beautiful song - and i always listen all the way through. quite poignant and the end. you acoustic guitar is great. your lower vocals really good, right on key. if i can make 1 critique...stay away from the higher notes when you're singing...and focus on your lower gutsy voice. you stay in key and it shows of your voice. you can just bring down the key a few notches to achive this. i love your gutsy voice. keep writing and playing these beautiful acoustics and lyrics - please. you're great!

I thought this song was one of your best. your choice of chords fit the song perfectly and the lyrics were great. i thought your vocals were better here then any of your other songs but i did think you went out of your range in a couple of places. all that emotion vented itself in one hell of a song. Nicely Done!
